Pai de Sean vai pedir ressarcimento de custos judiciais

A visita dos parentes brasileiros ao menino Sean ainda não foi definida, por não ter havido pedido formal.


O pai de Sean, David Goldman, conversou com os jornalistas há pouco. E a repórter Giuliana Morrone, que está em frente à casa de Sean, acompanhou essa entrevista.

David Goldman disse que Sean telefonou duas vezes para a avó brasileira, uma no Natal e outra nesta terça-feira e mandou uma mensagem de texto.

Ele se mostrou bastante cauteloso e não deu resposta direta sobre as visitas e que é algo para se ver no futuro. Mas disse que é o foco é a felicidade do filho.

Já a advogada de David Goldman disse que até agora a família brasileira não apresentou um pedido formal de visitas. E que esse pedido deveria ser feito à Justiça americana. E que, se for feito, será analisado tranquilamente.

O pai falou sobre a longa batalha judicial. Disse que, desde o início, até agora, gastou cerca de US$ 500 mil. A advogada disse que vai pedir à família brasileira o ressarcimento desses custos.

HR 3240: International Child Abduction Prevention Act of 2009 - To ensure compliance with the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction by countries with which the United States enjoys reciprocal obligations, to establish procedures for the prompt return of children abducted to other countries, and for other purposes.

HR 2702: A Bill to suspend the application of Generalized System of Preferences for Brazil until such time as Brazil complies with its obligations toward the United States under the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.
