Broadway’s favorite web slinger is finally in the now-injury-free swing of things in “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” but the show's past problems haven’t been forgotten. In fact, thanks to a spot-on send-up on “Sesame Street,” even the youngest Spidey fans cans see just what went wrong.
Catch a sneak peek of "SpiderMonster, the Musical," Sesame Street's hilarious new spoof of the Broadway show as part of the program's 42nd season.
In “SpiderMonster, The Musical,” a single audience member looked on in anticipation as the curtain went up.
“I can’t wait to see SpiderMonster fly!” the blue guy said.
But SpiderMonster, aka Grover, didn’t fly as much as he fell — right into the lap of the solo observer.
“It is only our 17th opening night, sir,” Grover said. “We still have a few kinks to work out. I'll tell you what: Do not worry. I can fix this. Bono, could you give me a boost next time?”
Find out whether or not the “Spider” spoof works out in the end when “Sesame Street” returns for its 42nd season in September.
