With Charlie Sheen’s primetime television career in question, the embattled actor is taking it to the stage.
For now, Sheen’s “Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option Show” has just two dates scheduled: April 2, at Detroit’s Fox Theatre and the next night at the Chicago Theatre. Tickets go on sale Saturday, for $45 to $84, including fees.
Larry Solters, a spokesman for Sheen and self-described “warlock in training,” confirmed that the actor would be performing as listed on the Ticketmaster site.
Live Nation Entertainment’s F.E.A. Merchandising subsidiary reached an agreement earlier this week to sell authorized Sheen memorabilia, which is likely to be available at the shows.
Monday, Nathan Hubbard, chief executive of Live Nation’s Ticketmaster division, wrote on his Twitter feed that Sheen “was on our office roof waving a machete today.” (He added: “This was not the weirdest part of my day.”)
Neither Mr. Hubbard nor a Ticketmaster spokeswoman could be immediately reached for comment.
Few details were included in an event page on Ticketmaster.com, though a brief description that appeared to have been written by Sheen himself exhibited the rhetorical flair that has become a signature of his recent online communiques.
“Will there be surprises?” the blurb asks. “Will there be guests? Will there be mayhem? Will you ask questions? Will you laugh? Will you scream? Will you know the truth? WILL THERE BE MORE?!?! This IS where you will hear the REAL story from the Warlock. Bring it I dare you to keep up with me. FOR MATURE AUDIENCES 18+ OVER.”
