(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Hacker group LulzSec (www.lulzsecurity.com) made its comeback on Monday, defacing The Sun website with false reports of Rupert Murdoch's death, according to various reports. A separate report on Tuesday claims the FBI has raided three homes of reported Anonymous members in New York.

According to a report by Forbes, LulzSec redirected The Sun website to a fake homepage claiming News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch had died of a drug overdose.

The report says that LulzSec also accessed The Sun's and News of the World's emails, and may release them in the next few days. The group tweeted email addresses and passwords for editors Rebekah Brooks, Bill Akass and Danny Rogers. Brooks was arrested Sunday for her involvement in the widely-reported News of the World phone hacking scandal.

Reuters reports that staff at Murdoch's newspapers had been told to change their passwords following the hack.

LulzSec hacked other Murdoch properties including News International and the Times of London in the hours following the first attack.

LulzSec announced its retirement at the end of June after two months of hacking websites from Sony to PBS.

In a separate report on Tuesday, Fox News claims that the FBI had warrants to search two homes in Long Island, N.Y. and one other in Brooklyn on suspicion that their residents were alleged Anonymous members.

A spokesperson for the FBI told CNET that it is an ongoing investigation and would not comment on whether the searches were related to Anonymous.

Last month, London police arrested a 19-year-old hacker in connection to the Sony hacks. The report says the three people cited in the searches were between their late teens and early 20s.

The hacker groups have a disjointed hierarchy and loose organization with no specific allegiance which makes it difficult for authorities to pin down the perpetrators of the attacks.
