Today is one of those days, and fans can hit up the official GRRM website to read an entire chapter from The Winds of Winter, the unreleased sixth book in the planned series of seven. Martin explains that the preview chapter does play some tricks with the timeline, making sure that readers are aware of its placement prior to events taking place in the final chapters of A Dance With Dragons.
In a post to his "Not a Blog" Live Journal late yesterday, Martin also revealed that a second chapter will be made available at the end of the paperback edition of A Dance With Dragons.

New 'Game of Thrones' Video Explains Why Belfast Was Chosen For Filming Season 2
In a new video that quietly aired over the weekend we get more inside info on the second season of HBO's Game of Thrones. The behind-the-scenes video is titled “Notes from the Set: Belfast” and we're hoping it's the first in a series of three, with Dublin and Iceland being the other two.
In the video we're introduced to location manager Robert Boake who tells us why Belfast is such a great place to bring George R.R. Martin's story to life. Michelle Fairley and Nikolaj Coster Waldau (who play Catlyn Stark and Jaime Lannister respectively) also jump in to let us know just how dreary the weather is there and what its like to film a fight scene in a giant mud puddle.
"Notes From the Set" is also one of the longest behind-the-scenes videos HBO has released from the set of Game of Thrones season 2 so you should definitely head past the break and check it out.
Game Of Thrones DVD/Blu-Ray Gives Exclusive Look at The "World of Westeros"
Nope, it’s not an MMORPG set in the world of “A Song of Ice and Fire” (though that would be awesome). The “World of Westeros” is an exclusive bonus DVD looking behind the scenes of HBO’s Game of Thrones for anyone who pre-orders the DVD or Blu-Ray.
Here’s the official blurb:
‘Creating the World of Westeros’ offers exclusive interviews with Production Designer Gemma Jackson, along with her creative team of concept artists, designers and set builders, who reveal the exciting process of bringing the world of Game of Thrones to television. From locations in Malta to the gigantic Paint Hall in Belfast, see how King's Landing, Winterfell, The Wall, and the Dothraki Sea came to life from initial designs to finished sets.Though the collection doesn’t get released until March, if you pre-order directly from the HBO Store now, you can instantly live stream the entire extra video! Looks like Winter came early this year! We mean, Christmas.
To tide those of you over who can’t wait for the streamed video to load (or for the extra DVD disc to arrive in the mail), here’s a quick look at what’s in store for you, courtesy of the HBO Store:
