6.0-magnitude earthquake hits off east coast of Japan's Honshu

BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted the waters off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 9:22 a.m. Beijing Time Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Network Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was monitored at 39.7 degrees north latitude and 143.1 degrees east longitude, the center said.
