HUGE TOG – Tons Of Small Bass In The Surf.

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Capt. David is back in the game. His first trip squeezed in between the windy days was a real beaut! Tog fever catch it! Calm seas and a great bite! If anyone is interested in booking a TOG trip with Cape David please call now!

In the surf the action has been outstanding the last three days with many anglers getting 40 to 50 bass a day!! All the fish are shorts but it has been a ball on fly and light tackle.

Lots of Fish…

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

Capt Gene got out today after the storm with Peter, Will, and Jamie for a search mission for Stripers. The guys found the mother load of fish working under birds. The fish were feeding on small herring and sand eels and stayed up from sun up until around noon. All in all a really nice day with basically all the schoolie and slot sized bass you could handle on light tackle. They guys did manage to squeek out one keeper.

Saturday Report

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

Capt Gene had out Walter and Peter Ulicny today – the guys had a good day with slot sized stripers on the fly and light tackle under birds. Less topwater action today with the weekend boat traffic but plenty of birds and fish. Walter had the hot hand – Great job as always guys!

Capt Jim had out December regulars Bruce English and Ken Osterman

and the duo fished hard all morning but had no takers in the waters of northern Monmouth County where we were fishing. What was exciting however was a short run and try for some bluefin tuna that were up and crashing on the surface under birds only 3.5 miles from the beach.

Fish were up and down quickly and we had one good shot casting into breaking fish next to the boat but the artificial did not connect. These fish are very very diffcult to catch at this time of year but none the less added some excitment to an otherwise very slow morning. Thanks guys for working so hard.
