The armed demonstrators opened fire at the security forces when the latter tried to disperse the crowd. The clash left at least one demonstrator killed, according to the official.

On June 19, at least 18 security guards of the Yemeni intelligence headquarters were killed when a group of gunmen broke into the intelligence building in the port city of Aden, a local security official told Xinhua.
