Matthew Vaughn’s |
It didn’t make it to the Super Bowl, but the trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s “X-Men: First Class” has now appeared online to blow your minds. Or, er, make you doubt the film even more. Unlike Professor X, I’m no mind reader, but any movie that puts the supremely gorgeous January Jones in a skimpy costume gets bonus points in my book. Hey, that’s just how I roll. So what do you think? Has Matthew Vaughn confirmed your faith in him or your fears?
“X-Men: First Class” charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
Starring Michael Fassbender, January Jones, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, Jason Flemyng, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Zoë Kravitz, Oliver Platt, Morgan Lily, Edi Gathegi, Caleb Landry Jones, and directed by Matthew Vaughn.
The swinging ’60s returns June 3, 2011.
