OMG! Did you just feel that?

Millions of people up and down the East Coast were pretty much asking themselves that very question after experiencing a rare 5.9 earthquake—or "earth quack," according to one trembling tweeter.

With its epicenter in Virginia just outside of Washington D.C., the tremor was felt as far away as New York City, Detroit, Indianapolis and Boston.

And naturally, it didn't take long for celebrities to take to Twitter and offer up their two cents on all the shaking going on. Here's a roundup of some of the best:

• "Omgggg we just had a frickn earth quack !!!!! I'm freakinggg out!" tweeted Jersey Shore star Deena Nicole Cortese, who, after having a "full blown anxiety attack," added, "I meant quake.. Sorry I'm shaking like a leaf and I mispelt it... Get real!"

Classic.

• "Um, earthquake in north carolina? it's nice to feel at home but please, don't go overboard," chimed in Elizabeth Banks (who's soon likely to feel the effects of Hurricane Irene later this week).

• Looking to a higher power, Chris Brown added: "Please pray for Virginia! Just had an earth quake!"

• "There was a 5.8 earthquake in Virginia - felt in New York, so perhaps that why the stylebar in sag harbor wobbled! Wild!" tweeted Real Housewives of New York City castmember Kelly Bensimon.

• "Happy to have been here for the most freakish earthquake Washington DC has ever seen," opined Maroon 5 rocker Adam Levine, who couldn't help but note there's "something very Roland Emericky" about the unusual seismic event. "Ok, he added. "Even GOD is pissed off at Washington now."

• Adam's colleague and host of The Voice, Carson Daly, on the other hand taunted: "Things are rollin in NYC now huh? Welcome to cali."
