Ryan Dunn's best friend Bam Margera claims he had a premonition of his Jackass co-star's accident.

Bam revealed that he was in Arizona when he received what he described as the "worst phone call I've ever got in my life."

The 31-year-old told news station WTXF: "At 12:30 [local time], I just started punching out the windows of the rental van and ripping out the speakers, and I don't even know why.

"I wasn't mad at anything or anybody. If it was 12:30 there [in Arizona], that means it was exactly when he crashed."

Bam broke down in tears as he visited the crash site today.

He said: "I've never lost anybody that I care about. He's my best friend.

"He was the happiest person ever, the smartest person, with so much talent.

"He had so many things going for him. It's just not right, it's not right."

Today an autopsy report revealed that Ryan died from the impact of his car crash and the heat of the resulting fire.

The same causes of death, blunt force trauma and thermal trauma, were listed for both the Jackass star and his passenger Zachary Hartwell, listed as a production assistant in the credits for the second Jackass movie.

Dunn was driving his Porsche in a Philadelphia suburb in the early hours of Monday morning when the car left the road, jumped a guardrail, hit a tree and burst into flames.

The 34-year-old, who found fame performing outrageous stunts in the hit MTV show, had earlier tweeted a photo of the pair with another male friend at a pub in West Chester. The photo has since been taken off Dunn's Twitter account RyanDunnTV.

A spokeswoman for Chester County coroner's office said toxicology results will take four to six weeks to complete.

Police believe speed may have been a factor in the crash, with early investigations at the crash site suggesting the car may have been going at more than 100mph in the 55mph zone.

Dunn's Jackass co-star Stephen "Steve-O" Glover tweeted: "I don't know what to say, except I love Ryan Dunn and I'm really going to miss him."

Dunn's brother Eric said in a statement: ""We appreciate the support of Ryan's fans during this time, and we are grateful for your thoughts and prayers.

"Ryan will be greatly missed, but he will forever remain in our hearts."
