Like many lawmakers, the new minister received, as a deputy, donations from contractors responsible for construction of stadiums

The new sports minister, Aldo Rebelo, received donations to their election campaigns in 2006 and 2010 contractors who are currently involved in the construction of stadiums for the 2014 World Cup. It is customary among contractors suprapartisan donations, several lawmakers, a default value.
Mendes Junior construction companies Odebrecht and contributed $ 140 thousand in two campaigns in which Aldo was elected federal deputy for the PC do B São Paulo. The new minister received also corporate sponsors of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
Mendes Junior gave $ 100,000 last year for Aldo. The company participates in the consortium that built the arena of Cuiabá (MT) for the event organized by FIFA. The stadium's estimated cost of $ 596.7 million, R $ 392 million financed by BNDES, according to the World Cup portal, maintained by the Ministry of Sports. The building was chosen through a tender organized by the government of Mato Grosso.
The Odebrecht group, in turn, gave $ 40,000 for the new minister in 2006. The contractor is ahead of works by four stages: Itaquera in Sao Paulo, Maracana in Rio; Arena Pernambuco, Recife, and Fonte Nova in Salvador. These projects have an estimated cost of U.S. $ 2.68 billion, according to the World Cup portal. All have funding from the BNDES, R $ 1.52 billion.
In addition to the contractors, three corporate sponsors of the CBF donated resources to campaign for the new minister, according to accounts given to the provision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). Aldo received $ 50 000 bank Itau Unibanco, R $ 25 thousand of Fratelli Vita Drinks, which belongs to AmBev, and $ 80 000 of the Brazilian Distribution Group that controls the Sugar Loaf.
Aldo was a president of CPI, which investigated the CBF and pointed out irregularities in the procurement entity. In recent years, however, the deputy approached Ricardo Teixeira. According to the parliament, there is no "hard feelings" in the relationship.
Independence. The new minister treated as normal contributions and said that this will have no interference in their work. "Do not hit and do not in any way to achieve my independence," he said. He also said they received no guidance from President Rousseff on how to deal with FIFA and said you want a cooperative relationship, but with independence.
Information provided to the TSE also show a curious fact. The deputy lost almost half its assets since 2006. That year, said Aldo have $ 612,900 in assets. Last year, the amount fell to $ 376,300. The loss is primarily due to a house of $ 203,000 reported in 2006 that is not in the accountability of last year. In 2010, the only property held by Aldo is a house in Viçosa (AL), which was built four years earlier.
