A boy of 12 years underwent surgery after being stuck with pliers on the back of the head in Saracuruna, in the Baixada Fluminense.

According to the State Health Department, was lucid when the child was admitted to the State Hospital Adam Nunes Pereira, on Sunday night (2).


According to the information given by the boy to the doctors, the wrench was thrown by another child.

In the hospital Saracuruna a CT scan was performed that identified a bleeding and need for surgery.

The surgery to remove the instrument ended around 1:30 a.m. on Monday (3).

The Department of Health reported that the boy did not have "motor neurological deficit postoperatively."

The boy was transferred to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) where pediatric in "good condition and conscious."
