CES 2011: Lenovo's IdeaPad UI Hybrid Gives You a Tablet and a Netbook

tech2.in.com/india

In the grand old debate between netbooks and tablets, Lenovo has, as expected, given you the best of both worlds. The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid is exactly as it sounds. Let's say you need a netbook to write a paper or transfer files between hard drives and then you want to go off and consume media. You use the netbook as it exists as you would use any Windows 7 netbook and then detach the screen from the computer's chassis to hold an Android 2.2 tablet. The tablet is the "LePad" which is also available seperately.

The tablet comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.3 GHz processor, with a 32 GB SD card and a 10.1-inch multi touch screen.

Lenovo's been working on this project for a while and had even shown a prior version of this finished product at CES 2010. Just the tablet itself costs $500 but this Hybrid netbook sells for a total of $1500.
