Egyptian cabinet expected to submit formal resignation soon

Egypt's outgoing cabinet was expected to formally submit its resignation at a meeting expected to start at around midday (1000 GMT) on Saturday, Reuters reported.

A new government is likely to formed very swiftly, Magdy Rady, a cabinet spokesman said.

"The president will announce who will be the next prime minister. But what I understand from the president (in his speech) is that the government should be formed very fast today," he said.
