6.0-magnitude quake hits near east coast of Honshu, Japan -- USGS




TOKYO, April 23 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 19: 12 local time (1012 GMT) on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 38.90 km, was initially determined to be at 39.1642 degrees north latitude and 142.8916 degrees east longitude.
