Brazil implant maker hopes to ride out storm

Set up 33 years ago in a favela in northern Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian firm Silimed is the biggest silicone implant manufacturer in Latin America, churning out 1,600 implants a day. The company hopes that the scandal of sub-standard silicone gel used in implants by French manufacturer PIP will not hit business too hard
