Here’s to a happy, stable life
By DEIDRE SANDERS, Sun agony aunt
THERE is every sign that William and Kate are a match made to last.
They were student housemates, so got to know each other when he was struggling with getting essays in on time just like everyone else.
He had a wobble a while back - but it wasn't long before he seemed to realise life without Kate wasn't fun after all.
Apart from Prince Harry, she is the other person around his own age who can talk straight to him and help him feel normal.
When he has had to shake 100 hands and everyone is swooning to meet him, someone who can gently take the mickey will keep him feeling human.
And especially having lost his mum so young, it will make all the difference to his deep-down happiness and stability by having a woman in his life who is 100 per cent dependable and has shown that she can survive the pressures of life in the Royal Family.
Wedding will ease our woe
By TREVOR KAVANAGH, Associate Editor
KATE and Wills could not have picked a better moment than the month before Christmas to announce their engagement.
We now have a Royal Wedding to make us forget about dreary cuts, strikes, jobs and inflation.
It's almost as if David Cameron teed it up to launch his new index of national happiness.
Thanks to the Royal couple, the news will be dominated through the dark days of January and February by tales about Kate's bottom drawer and her wedding dress.
Sharp rises in VAT and Stamp Duty will be eclipsed by speculation about the honeymoon.
As Ireland goes bust and the euro collapses in ruins, Britain's morale will be lifted by an avalanche of romantic news from the Palace.
It's just like the wartime spirit of The Blitz - when Wills' great grandma took Britain's mind off the bombing with a visit to London's devastated East End.
