Syrian president to visit Cuba

HAVANA, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will arrive here on Sunday for an official visit to Cuba,the official daily Granma said Saturday.

The Syrian president, invited by the Cuban government, will hold talks with the his Cuban counterpart Army General Raul Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, the report said.

Al-Assad is scheduled to visit Cuba as part of a regional tour to Cuba, Brazil and Argentina to boost bilateral ties Latin American nations.
