Firework Bomb thrown at Thailand's Election Commissioner's house

BANGKOK, May 10 (Xinhua) -- A giant firework bomb was thrown at Election Commissioner chairman Aphichart Sukkhakanont's house in late Sunday night.

There is only a housekeeper in the house, while Aphichart and his family members have not stayed in the house since the beginning of the anti-government rally in central Bangkok.

No one was injured as the firework bomb missed the targeted house and damaged the wall, Thai News Agency reported.

Police are investigating the incident.

BANGKOK, May 9 (Xinhua) -- The Thai anti-government group on Sunday called on the government not to pressure the protesters concerning the making of details of their reconciliation roadmap to be implemented along with the one having been offered by the Prime Minister.

Thailand's Premier Abhisit Vejjajiva addressed on the night of May 3 the nation during a live television program the government was ready to hold a new general election on to be held Nov. 14 if conditions are met.

"I think that if the reconciliation process (is accepted by all sides) and the situation returns to normal, the election will be held on Nov. 14, a goal that the government is ready to achieve," Abhisit said.

Dissolution of the House of Representatives could take place any day from Sept. 15 to 30, Abhisit said.

The United front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) has still agreed to move forward with the prime minister's offered roadmap, Thai News Agency quoted UDD core leader Natthawut Saikua as saying.

However, "the roadmap does not only mean ending of the UDD rally or House dissolution, but also mean restoring normalcy to the country," Natthawut said.

Natthawut was responding to Abhisit's demanding the UDD group to give a clear answer by the following day on whether they will end the prolonged rally in central Bangko
