"Life's Too Short," from Gervais and Stephen Merchant, is a fictional documentary about Davis' life as a little person who's down on his luck, struggling to get back into the spotlight. Davis plays a fictionalized version of himself and runs a talent agency for little people in show business, called "Dwarves for Hire," though he often takes the roles for himself. He also serves as a vice chairman of a society for little people.
Each episode will also feature cameos from some big names, including Johnny Depp, Liam Neeson, Sting, Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Carell and "So You Think You Can Dance" host Cat Deeley. Gervais and Merchant will also play themselves in supporting roles.
Other cast regulars include Jo Enright as Davis' soon to be ex-wife Sue, Rosamund Hanson as his dim-witted assistant, Steve Brody as his incompetent accountant and “EastEnders” actor Shaun Williamson as himself.
