An Auckland woman will be travelling to London to catch a glimpse of Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding - the fifth royal wedding she has made the trip to see.
May Dalgleish has travelled to London for almost every royal wedding in her lifetime and Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding will be no exception.
While most of us will be quite content watching the royal wedding on television this Friday, Dalgleish just has to be there. She will be camping out on the street to get a prime viewing spot for the procession.
"I've been to the Queen's, Princess Margaret, Princess Anne and Diana and Charles'," said the royalist.
Dalgleish has been a royal fanatic since she was only five, and through flying to London for each wedding she has made other fanatical friends in the process.
"I've met some wonderful friends. You walk along, you catch up with them and they recognise you, and likewise you recognise them."
However, Dalgleish thought she might miss out on this year's big event when a cut on her leg got infected and threatened her travel plans right up until last week.
"To be there and to witness it all, means a lot. I'll find a good possie, I'm sure. And if not I'll say, 'look I'm only a little one, can you squeeze somebody in?'" she said.
The determined royal watcher is prepared to camp out on the mall overnight just to catch a glimpse of the happy couple.
For a woman who has seen it all before, Dalgleish is expecting a very traditional wedding - nothing too different to what she has seen in the past four.
