The Rolling Stones will release a limited edition 7" single of the previously unreleased track "Plundered My Soul" in honor of Record Store Day on April 17. "Plundered My Soul," which is soon to be released as part of the group's Exile on Main St. re-issue, will be featured along with "All Down the Line" on the single, according to an April 7 announcement.
The Rolling Stones join a long list of acts set to release promotional vinyls on Record Store Day, an annual celebration of independent record stores that was founded in the US and has spread worldwide.
Among other offerings for 2010 are Josh Ritter's new album, a 7" by the recently reunited Soundgarden, Muse's Exogenesis: Symphony on a 12", a seafoam green 12" of The Flaming Lips' Dark Side of the Moon cover, and music by Pavement, Sonic Youth, Tom Waits, Gorillaz, Black Sabbath, Metallica, and The Doors.
UK offerings include singles by The Beatles, Lily Allen, Babyshambles, Bat For Lashes, Pet Shop Boys, Tinie Tempah, and Danger Mouse.
"Plundered My Soul" will be released in a limited amount of hand-numbered copies on April 17. On May 18, the track will be available as part of Exile on Main St.
