Two would-be Palestinian terrorists were killed on the Gaza border on Tuesday morning, as the IDF foiled and infiltration attempt. No IDF injures were reported.
Soldiers spotted the two suspects attempting to cross the border fence, successfully chased them down and fatally shot them.
"Two Palestinian terrorists were identified infiltrating into Israel from the southern Gaza Strip earlier this morning. The soldiers on the scene exchanged fire with the terrorists, during which both were killed," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit described the event in a statement released later.
"The IDF remains committed to protecting the citizens of Israel and will continue to act against terrorism. The IDF holds Hamas solely responsible for terror emanating from the Gaza Strip," said the statement.
As a result of the incident, four settlements near the border fence were closed, as well as Route 232. Residents of the settlements were asked to stay in their homes, and children were held back from school.
