Expect cards between Porto and Braga in bet of the day

The last three games between the two Portuguese clubs have witnessed 22 cards so expect some more when these local rivals contest the Europa League final in Dublin

Only 47km separates Porto from Braga, which means tonight's match is very much a local contest being duked out on the European stage.

The Dragons generally rule over the Archbishops, losing just two of the previous 12 meetings to their rivals, and are widely tipped to continue that form this evening in Dublin.

At a price of 1.40, Porto may well be good things but there isn't enough value to back Andre Villas-Boas' team to win in 90 minutes or to lift the trophy @ 1.22. Punters looking for value should consider the cards or goals markets, where there is plenty of enticing opportunities.

On the goals front we should expect a resolute Braga outfit to put up the stoppers to deny free scoring Porto. Defensively the underdogs have excelled in the Europa League and you can back the half-time draw @ 2.25.

We all know Porto rip teams to shreds in the second half – just ask Villarreal – so over 1.5 goals in the second 45 minutes @ 2.10 screams value. Two of the last three games between these sides have gone over 4.5 goals, which is checking out @ 6.50.

Perhaps the best bets are in the increasingly popular cards market. The last three matches between these opponents have produced a mighty 22 cards, breaking down into eight, seven and seven respectively for each match.

Curiously, despite the glut of cards we haven't seen a single red among the 22 cautions. Even better news for punters is that Spaniard Carlos Velasco Carballo, who referees tonight's final, hands out cautions like confetti.

In his last game between Osasuna and Valencia in La Liga he gave 11 alone and will want to stamp his authority on this match from the outset. The lines on over six cards are very inviting along with the probability of a red card. After 22 cards in three games surely it's bound to happen.
