ISTANBUL, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Turkish foreign minister said Monday the only way for Israeli-Turkish relations to normalize is that Israel stands before an international commission and takes responsibility for the Gaza flotilla raid. "If Israel keeps fleeing before an international commission, it will not be possible for our relations to normalize," Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in Istanbul. He made the statement during a press conference after a trilateral meeting with the foreign ministers of Afghanistan and Pakistan in Ciragan Palace. The flotilla raid was not a single issue between Israel and Turkey, but rather an issue between Israel and the international community and law, he added. Davutoglu said, "Israel must answer questions before a commission under the international law and approved by the UN." If Israel believes its actions are justified and it has abided by the international law, it should appear before the commission, he added.
