BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Charlie Sheen will return to CBS's hit comedy "Two and a half Men" next season, according to the actor's publicist, media reports Tuesday.
"To put a fitting end on the two and one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I'm looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights," said Sheen in a statement.
Speculations were aroused last month as Sheen reportedly told friends that he might quit the show after this season's end.
Sheen's portrayal of bachelor Charlie Harper in "Two and a half Men" has won him four nominations in the Emmy Awards. The actor, 44, is currently earning about 800,000 U.S. dollars per episode of "Two and a half Men", and this contract with Warner Bros. TV was set to expire on April 9.
Now that Sheen has confirmed that he will star in the all-time-popular show for two more episodes under a new contract, there are reasons to believe he will rake more money from it.
"Two and a half Men" has just finished its seventh season and is one of the U.S.'s most successful sitcoms.
