BEIJING, May 21 -- On Thursday, the Turkish air force bombed Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq, its largest operation in nearly 18 months.
Around 20 jet fighters hit nearly 50 targets in northern Iraq's Zab valley. The Anatolian news agency said members from the PKK, a Kurdish guerilla organization which Turkey has labelled a terrorist group, was spotted to be approaching the Turkish border.
The aerial attack operation lasted for an hour. On May 8, Turkish army forces pursued the PKK into northern Iraq and killed at least five rebels.
