Israeli forces kill Egyptian smuggler

ISMAILIA, Egypt, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli forces on Saturday shot dead an Egyptian smuggler, injured another and arrested two when they were trying to sneak into Israel with drugs, a Egyptian security source said.

"An Israeli security official informed the Egyptian side that four local Egyptian nationals crossed the borders carrying five bags of drugs," the source told Xinhua.

"The Israeli forces killed one, injured another and arrested two, "the source added.

Egypt's eastern borders have long been a destination for African migrants who seek job opportunities in Israel and for drug smugglers.
