Latin America Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 Five rotting heads were found in a bag near an elementary school in Acapulco, Mexico, on Tuesday.
The bag containing the severed heads of five men was found inside a wooden crate, along with handwritten messages threatening the governor and area drug cartel leaders, the BBC reported.
It was not immediately confirmed if there’s a link to the five headless bodies found Monday in another area of the southern port city in and around a torched car, but police expect the heads will match those corpses.
The grisly discovery of the bag of heads was made in front of students at Benito Juarez school.
Thousands of teachers demonstrated in the city last week to protest the lack of safety in schools and plead for improved security.
Earlier in September parents and teachers were so concerned about safety that 140 schools were temporarily closed.
The deaths are the latest in Mexico’s ongoing war with ruthless drug cartels, which are also battling amongst themselves in a bloody turf war.
At least 41,000 people have been killed since 2006.

Macabro hallazgo.
