Princes Drizzle dead at match

DEVASTATED Prince Harry has shed a tear for his favourite polo horse after it suffered heart problems and died.

The Prince was riding pony Drizzle during a match when he noticed she was struggling to run at her normal pace.

Harry retired her from the game but she soon died after suffering a heart attack leaving William and his brother "very upset".

Harry had been riding the ten-year-old during the second half of a charity match at Ascot, Berks, when she became ill.

A royal aide said: "Harry instinctively realised that something was wrong with Drizzle.

"He decided to ride her to the side of the pitch and she was then walked off. Sadly, within minutes she suffered a heart attack and died.

"William and Harry are very, very upset. Harry was in tears."

Guests at the match included former Friends star Matt LeBlanc and singer Natalie Imbruglia.

A bystander added: "It was very lucky that Harry rode her off, because we were spared the gruesome spectacle of watching the pony die."

Distressed Harry had to have a cigarette after the game and said he did not want to stay for lunch because he couldn't believe what had happened.

Prince Charles used to ride Drizzle until he gave up competitive polo in 2005.
