'Glee' hoping for more Madonna?

Say it ain't so!

While we're all still reeling from Tuesday's "Power of Madonna" episode of "Glee," news that another Material Girl episode being in the works makes our stomachs churn over here at Show Tracker.

Ryan Murphy confirms that he is talking to Madonna about doing a sequel to Tuesdays highly rated show, reports Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.

Murphy says, "Madonna and her people are into it and want it to happen."

Part two would air early next season. While part one drew in 13.5 million viewers -- surprisingly down a small percentage from the spring premiere -- and the soundtrack from the episode is currently No. 1 on iTunes, we are begging Murphy not to do this.

Don't get us wrong, we loved the episode - you can read my grades of the performances here. But lets be honest, story-wise the Madonna episode offered little to no plot development. We love it when the music adds to the story, but when you have a themed episode it becomes about the music and not the story.

It's great to do a gimmicky episode every once in a while (we recommend Michael Jackson if you really want to do another), just for fun, but we still have to get through the Lady Gaga fest in the remaining back nine and regardless of whether or not Gaga is the focus of the entire episode, I've already cringed at the idea of outrageous outfits. Come on guys this is not you. The "power" of "Glee" is that the songs continue to propel the plot -- Rachel's kiss-off to Finn with "Gives You Hell" last week was excellent, and how could you forget Artie's sublime rendition of "Dancing With Myself" in the "Wheels" episode. The music always works, and it's always a surprise.

Sorry Murphy, while some Gleeks might be caught up in the hype machine of the episode, we here at Show Tracker don't want this -- at all. Please don't turn the show into the "Power of Good-Bye," no offense to Madonna. Maybe we shouldn't have loved the episode so much.

Lastly, I was reliving the episode for a third time with a friend through instant message who let me know his DVR cut out, no thanks to "American Idol." So for those of you who missed the final number, "Like A Prayer," check it out below. We're sure Fox will repeat it soon.
